Unexpected plumbing problem in Coogee
Deborah was a stay at home mum. She had three children. Deborah and her husband lived in a 35 year old home near the beach in Coogee. They loved the old house, but had decided that some parts had to be renovated as paint and plaster was peeling at places. Rather than hire somebody for the work, they decided to do it themselves, in bits and pieces. That way, they could pick and choose whatever they wanted and save money.
They had finished the master bedroom a week before and had started work on the bathroom. The bathroom was faded and jaded. The old wallpaper, baseboard, floor, sink and medicine cabinet had to go. It was hard work but for Deborah who loved to work with colours and light, it was also something of a creative outlet.
That is how they began work on renovating the toilet. The first half had gone surprisingly well. They were able to pull everything out quick and fast. But, they spotted trouble the moment they dug out the tiles on the floor.
The pipe across the floor was rusty and looked precariously close to crumbling in one or two places. They knew that the water pipes inside the wall would probably be as aged as those in the floor. After discussing the problem with others, they decided that it would be better to get an expert opinion so they could decide whether they needed to change all the pipes. In case they left the pipes as they were, they would have to dig up the bathroom when the water pipes finally started leaking.
Duke decided to fix an appointment with this plumber from Coogee. It helped that this particular plumber from Coogee had an extensive network in the locality. They were active in the areas nearby and dealt with plumbing emergencies in the Eastern Suburbs, Clovelly, Maroubra, Kensington, Randwick, Bronte and Coogee.
As had been discussed, the plumber from Coogee inspected the bathroom early the next morning. He not only helped them with the water pipe but also spotted a problem with the toilet drain that they could fix while they were renovating the bathroom. In the course of the discussion, the plumber from Coogee agreed to send in a detailed quote for the bathroom renovation, including new taps to replace the old ones, new drainage system and a new vanity unit.
When they received the quote for the bathroom renovation, they were surprised. They had expected a much bigger amount but this plumber was reasonable and efficient.
A week later, the bathroom renovation was done. The plumber from Coogee had fixed the drain pipes, changed the old leakign taps and installed a new hot water heater that would supply water to both the bathrooms in the ground floor.
